Sinus Lift in Budapest: Safe Bone Augmentation for Your Dental Implants
For when there isn’t enough bone in the upper jaw.
State-of-the-art sinus lift techniques for the stable hold of your dental implants at the CompletDent clinic.
A fixed implant needs a stable foundation of sufficient jawbone. In the back-tooth area of the upper jaw, however, bone is often lacking – whether through natural bone loss after losing a tooth, or an anatomically low-lying sinus cavity. In these cases a sinus lift is the proven solution: the floor of the sinus is gently raised and filled with bone graft material to create the height needed for a secure implant.
The two sinus lift methods
Depending on how much bone height you have left, our surgeons use two different techniques:
The internal sinus lift (the minor procedure)
If only a few millimetres of bone are missing, augmentation can be done minimally invasively through the same channel drilled for the implant. The implant is usually placed immediately, in the same appointment.
The external sinus lift (the larger augmentation)
For significant bone loss, the surgeon works through a small lateral window in the sinus wall. This allows considerably more bone volume to be built up. Implants are then usually placed after a healing phase of a few months.
